Shockwave Therapy
Acoustic energy that triggers your body's natural repair response without surgery or medication.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Treatment sessions are 15-20 minutes per area. Most protocols involve 6 sessions over 3-6 weeks. The procedure involves a hand-held applicator placed on the skin with a gel. Patients typically feel a pulsing sensation not painful, but noticeable. No anesthesia or downtime required.
WHAT IS SHOCKWAVE THERAPY?
Low-Intensity Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (LI-ESWT) uses focused acoustic pressure waves to deliver energy to targeted tissues. Unlike high-intensity shockwave used in lithotripsy (kidney stones), the low-intensity version used in regenerative medicine is gentle, non-invasive, and designed specifically to stimulate the body's repair and regeneration mechanisms.
At Alliance Regenerative Medicine, we use shockwave therapy primarily for erectile dysfunction treatment (as part of our P-Wave or ED restoration protocol) and for musculoskeletal healing of tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues.
How It Works
When shockwave energy is delivered to tissue, it creates microscopic disruptions that the body interprets as microtrauma triggering a powerful repair response:
Neovascularization: New blood vessels form in the treated area, improving circulation
Growth factor release: VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) and other healing factors are released
Stem cell activation: Local stem cells are recruited to the treatment zone
Anti-inflammatory effect: Chronic inflammation is reduced
Collagen synthesis: New connective tissue is produced, strengthening tendons and ligaments
APPLICATIONS
Erectile Dysfunction (ED Protocol): Clinical trials have demonstrated that LI-ESWT significantly improves erectile function by restoring blood flow through neovascularization. It addresses the vascular root cause of ED not just masking symptoms. At Alliance, shockwave is combined with PRP (P-Shot) and peptide therapy for comprehensive results.
Clinically studied in multiple RCTs (randomized controlled trials)
Non-invasive: no needles, no medication, no downtime
Results last 1-2+ years in many patients
Musculoskeletal Conditions:
Chronic tendinopathy (Achilles, patellar, rotator cuff)
Plantar fasciitis - Tennis elbow / golfer's elbow
Calcific tendinitis
Hip and shoulder bursitis
