What Is the PT-141

PT-141, also known as Bremelanotide, is asynthetic peptide derived from Melanotan II, originally developed to stimulate melanin production. However, during early studies, researchers noticed a powerful secondary effect—increased sexual arousal. PT-141 was isolated to focus exclusively on these effects, without impacting skin pigmentation. It is now FDA-approved for hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women and is widely used off-label for men as a libido-enhancing and erectile support compound. How It Works
